Because domesticated cats can become very accustomed to having their food brought to them and really have not much else to do around a suburban home but sleep and purr, it's easy to forget that by nature they are predators. As with all other creatures, your cat is an individual and should be treated like one. Even the best training efforts in the world are not going to result in a perfect cat, so don't expect that.
